Job Summary
The role of the Journeyman Service Electrician is to maintain, oversee and work alongside crew of electrical apprentices and installers. A Journeyman will work under the guidance of a Project Manager and contribute to several job specific activities including employee training: installations, alternations, and repair of electrical systems.
Functions
- Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility
- Participate in weekly safety meetings
- Enters employee’s weekly time into Foundation Mobile on a timely manner
- Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation
- Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- While performing essential functions of this job service Journeyman electrician will:
- Bend and twist body
- Repeat same movements
- Stand for long periods of time
- Crouch/ crawl
- Climb ladders, Scaffolds or poles
- Lift up to 50 pounds
Skills
- Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g., hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent customer service skills, must treat customer with the highest degree respect and work to develop a partnership environment
- Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and measured manner
Requirements
- Possess valid driver’s License
- Must be able to successfully pass a background test and drug test
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle record
- Current State Issued Journeyman Electrician’s License
- Must be able to pass drug and background check
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the commercial field
- Exceptional understanding of the electrical industry
- Knowledge of electrical calculations
